A Reference for Andy Hunt and the work of ASK Education & Training Limited
I have known Andy Hunt for five years. He has been a regular contributor to PSE at Bassaleg School since 1996. When the new PSCE programme for KS3 and KS4 students was being set up I contacted him to provide training for the Sex and Relationships team. The group enjoyed the workshop and they felt empowered to deliver contraception and HIV/AIDS within the context of personal relationships as a result of the training.
Our school has a holistic approach to PSCE and the core of the Sex and Relationship Education programme is the promotion of responsible, appropriate and healthy personal relationships. Andy delivers informative presentations about contraception and HIV/AIDS prevention to our KS4 students. They look forward to his visits and his approach is always stimulating; he makes the students aware of the risks involved in sexual activity and he promotes the importance of self awareness and of responsible, happy relationships. Andy is a brilliant role model for our students, sincere and amusing, they enjoy listening to him and there are always some who remain behind at the end of a session to ask for his advice.
Andy is a family man who cares deeply about young people. He has always been willing to give of his time and has spoken in Assemblies about the impact of HIV/AIDS in Africa of which he has first hand knowledge through his work as a youth leader, expedition organiser and health educator. He has made a valuable contribution to our ‘Stand Down’ days for KS5 students too. As a result our students have gained insight into the problems of other young people. I am more than happy to recommend him!
