Andy has just finished recruiting for another trip to Kenya. This year 75+ young people have signed up with Adventure Alternative and Moving Mountains Trust to take part in the projects happening this summer.
This year the month long trip will include helping to run a summer camp in Western Kenya and working with a school in Wagwer. This is hard work and in difficult conditions – no running water, proper toilets or electricity and camping in tents throughout while often having to cook on open fires.
Fundraising activities are well under way and many of the young people have signed up to do the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme and will use the trip to count for some of the Award sections.
ASK will deliver HIV & Condom awareness to communities we will be staying with while in Africa. The young people from the UK also take part in the education sessions and often deliver much of the training themselves especially to the Kenyan young people.
